low fire discography
"salvation is at hand"
cd-r,
flameout records, 2006

the first low fire release to feature a full band (lasse lykke on bass & emil meilvang on drums) as well as the first low fire release ever recorded in an actual studio (hence the subtitle: "the sellout ep"). i initially intended this to be a sort of demo, but since no labels showed much interest, i came to the sober conclusion that most labels suck & decided to put it out myself. generally, it's less "folk" & more "rawk". 4 out of the 5 songs (well, actually i added a "bonus" song, so now there are 6 songs) are available for free on the
low fire mymusic site. if you read danish, you can read a review here (from undertoner).
"why do you have to be so depressing?"
cd-r, flameout records, 2005

my first self-released effort, and a heavily underpromoted one too!
a bit less lo-fi and sputtering than the previous ones, but it does feature some nice singer/songwriter tunes about death, isolation & fatal love affairs. if you read danish, you can read a semi-positive review
here.
"I didn't reject the world... (the world rejected me)"
cassette,
monotone records, 2005

32 (!) tracks of teen angst and anti-life anthems for the no nothing generation!
possibly the most hardcore lo-fi thing i'll ever put out, this cassette of dictaphone recordings spanning the period 1999-2004 was originally meant to be subtitled "i didn't reject girls (girls rejected me)" in order to make it sound just slightlty less pretentious and whiney. oh well!
much thanks to kevin huelbig for putting this out and making the wonderful cover.
"the emptiness explodes"
cd-r, tape mountain, 2003

the first full-length (well, er - i guess 19 songs in 18 min. don't quite make a full-length, but 'mini-album' doesn't sound right either!). actually, its realization was sort of a coincidence. i traded music with jacob anderson (head of tape mountain who makes absolutely brilliant music under the celesteville moniker) who kindly offered to put out a cd-r of my stuff. the air is heavy with teenage anxiety on this one, and while i find it a bit difficult to listen to these days, it does contain some fine (if emotionally overcharged) songs. if you're interested, you can
read a review from foxy digitalis  or - in case you read danish - one from berlingske tidende.
RELEASES FEATURING LOW FIRE
the inhibitionists: "living it up in the dark ages"
cd-r, bsbta, 2005

i contributed vocals & imbecile guitar fingerpicking for the song "chest" on this ambitious mail collaboration project by the always visionary christian kann!
"affiliate program vol. 1"
cd-r, bsbta, 2004

i submitted a track called "push me out (seriously fucked up version)" for the 1st installment in bsbta's affiliate program series. it's actually a gut-wrenching meeting between low fire & my noise alter ego, devastate of mind - now, how is that for pseudo-narcissist schizophrenia?
"bsbta ep club, march 2003"
cd-r, bsbta, 2003

i contributed the song "not taking a stand = taking a stand" to the march edition of bsbta's ep club. the song (one of the 1st things i recorded on my newly bought zoom digital 4-track which i've since abandoned) was originally written as a commentary on the danish government's position regarding the (at that point) forthcoming war on iraq - a war that i could not imagine we would actually be taking part in (how young and nave i was!).
"furballs of frustration" & "hairballs of hysteria"
2xcd-r, bsbta, 2001

as you've probably noticed by now, all my compilation appearances have been on bsbta releases, and mr. kann was indeed also the first to ever release anything that yours truly committed to tape (thanks, christian). luckily, though, these comps are now out of print! i was just 14 years when i recorded "plane" & "play the tape slowly", , i could barely play the guitar, my english was not all that good, and i had caught a a cold at the time i recorded the songs. need i say more?
