*Overview*

A day removed from the September 27th "Smackdown!" show, Vince and Shane came to the decision that they would run both WWF and WCW/ECW as seperate entities. Vince would run WWF, while Shane would run WCW/ECW.

So on October 1, Vince McMahon decided that night on the "Raw" event that there be a match take place: Vince McMahon Vs. Shane McMahon. The winner's company would get WWF's current time slot. The loser would have to leave for good...and take his roster with him. Vince cleanly pinned Shane that night and "The Alliance" did indeed leave for good, but during the following "Smackdown!" telecast advertisements were shown for "WCW Nitro" aired which would be taking place on October 8, on TNT. Yes, you heard correctly, WCW Nitro. They dropped the ECW name, they said ECW was "finished." This didn't sit too well with Paul Heyman, but we'll get to him in a moment.

Anyway, the WWF had signed new talent, as did the WCW to 'equalize' the roster count. New and old faces were added to both rosters. As well as people who jumped ship. People like Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit jumped to the now only known "WCW" and people like Stone Cold Steve Austin jumped to the WWF.

Suprisingly enough though, "Nitro" was a flop...big time. People just didn't care. Sure, they had top draws, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Scott Steiner, Chris Jericho, and even Bill Goldberg, but that didn't seem to be enough to entertain the people.

While all of this is going on, Rob Black has bought CZW and merged it in with XPW(including all of CZW's wrestlers), however, he kept the fed still only known as "XPW"

But getting back to the horrible Nitro show. "Nitro" was WCW's only show...for now anyway. So on the following Nitro Shane decided to 'spice things up' and...they didn't work. Ratings were in the toilet. Vince thought Shane was doing a terrible job. He thought Shane was too young to run a fed of his own and with Heyman's power being cut down drastically, things of course got worse. Shane refused to use any of ECW's old roster(except for Rob Van Dam), he referred to them as "jobbers"...behind closed doors of course.

This is where Paul Heyman steps in. Although Heyman didn't have much power or say in the new WCW, Shane thought he had a brilliant idea. Heyman suggested that he bring back ECW and have it be a completely seperate promotion for a brief period of time. He said he'd use the ECW guys that aren't getting any TV time now(which is most of the roster) to put over the WCW wrestlers and show. Kinda like an nWo angle, except they'd do be squashed(heh, Tazz-style). Now why would Heyman suggest or agree to such a thing? Keep reading.

Heyman obtained the contracts of most if not all of the former ECW wrestlers that were employed by WCW. He bought out the contracts of several former ECW wrestlers that were under WWF contract and was given every ECW trademark and logo for FREE to do this angle. Everything was put under his name. He was on the good side of the McMahons, they had complete faith and trust in him. Why the McMahons would sign over every single ECW logo just for an angle is not known, perhaps Paul Heyman convinced them to. After all, he did make them and/or have them made.

Heyman had all the ECW logos, contracts, and trademarks needed to run a wrestling promotion. He claimed he wanted the angle to seem 'authentic' and the McMahons believed it!

Shane wanted the ECW angle to debut on the 3rd Nitro show, October 22. But Heyman claimed he needed more time to sign a few former ECW stars. He signed a few former ECW stars who he was not on good terms with, but they apparently put the past behind them...like Shane Douglas and Bam Bam Bigelow. The McMahons used their pull to get this ECW a 1 hour time slot on TNN. The McMahons promised at least 2.'s for each show. TNN agreed, they figured the ratings would be better than what was previously being broadcasted(Bull Riding?) and that ECW would only have a show for a month or two, or so the McMahons said. With this time slot Heyman claimed he wanted to debut his ECW and have WCW invade and completely take over the name. So instead of ECW appearing on WCW that night on "Nitro", advertisements of ECW would be shown on both "Nitro" and "Raw"

After getting himself situated with the "ECW angle" Heyman *gasp* contacted Rob Black of all people. For what you ask? Heyman proposed an angle. At first an argument insued via cell phone over last year's events. After they could shout no longer at each other, Heyman told Black to give him a second to inform him on his "master plan." Heyman also said he'd guarantee at least 2.5's. An offer Black simply could not refuse. Heyman also proposed that XPW merge with ECW and keep the ECW name for drawing value's sake. Black took very few XPW wrestlers with him. Before ECW's first show Black contacted former XPW star Messiah for a possible apparence. Messiah agreed because 'the money was right.'

The McMahons still thought all was well and that things were still running according to plan.

It is now October 28. YOU are Paul Heyman and YOU plan to kick off "ECW on TNN" with an opening shoot segment. You've decided to let the McMahons in on everything...in front of the world! Not only will you shoot on Vince and Shane, but also Jim Ross, The Rock, Steve Austin, Undertaker and many more. You're almost guaranteed to have ratings through the roof!...well, ratings higher than you've ever gotten before at least.

What will you do with your current product after the Heyman shoot? Run ECW altogether? Have Black and Heyman be allies? Have Black and Heyman be enemies? Have an ECW Vs. XPW angle? Whichever you may prefer, good luck, just try to beat the WWF! No need to worry about WCW, it seems to be going downhill again. You're getting alot of attention and the internet loves you. Vince might try to sue you but all the copyrights are in your name. "haha"

You must also try to rebuild your main eventers whos credibility was tarnished by the WWF.
