This chart will give you
an idea of what color babies are possible from your gerbil
parents.The Spsp (spotted/Pied or patched) gene isnt
included because if one parent or both has this gene, at
least 1/2 of the babies will.First print this page
and Write the Father's
genes here____________________________.
And
Write the Mother's genes
here____________________________.

Page.Also,you have to guess the recessives.)
Next, write the
first and second letter of each gene(zygote) across the top
[blue for father]or side [red for mother] on the punnet
squares below.
Once the genes have been written across
the top and sides, you take one letter from the top and one
letter from the side and put them into the numbered square
which intersets those two letters.For example using the
first two letters of Aa pp GG CC Ee =
Argente father and aa
PP GG CC EE = Black mother.We have Aa and aa

You will then have some of the possibilities of what the
babies
genotypes are.Since, it is beyond the scope of this web
page to list all 356 outcomes only 20 will be listed.
