"Baby"
Baby
was found by a good samaritan* in the Charleston area in July, running
stray and having dog bite punctures around her neck, chest, and head.
No one claimed her when she was advertised in the area newspapers.
:( She healed very quickly and was placed under LBR care in early
August. We found that she did have heartworms, but was otherwise
healthy, so treatment for the heartworm disease was done and her vaccinations
were updated. She was a bit of a dominant girl and only seemed to
be peaceable with a laid back male dog or equal size or larger, and she
definitely does not like cats! See below for another happy update! |

| Following her treatment for the dreaded heartworms, Baby was adopted
in Sept. by a lovely family, the McCardle's! She fit in immediately
with this wonderful pack and they are in absolute love with her.
She has 2 younger "pups" to keep her active, Meagan, age 11, and Patrick,
age 7. The elder brother, Michael is 16. The whole family leads
an active lifestyle and sweet Meagan has wanted a dog of her very own for
more than 5 years now. Baby just seemed to be a perfect match for
this young lady and her family too. As the only pet in the house,
Baby is being spoiled the way she should be. She obviously had a
rough start in life, and thankfully is now as close to heaven on earth
as anyone could be. Thank you to the McCardle family for coming to
us at just the right moment that Baby needed you as much as you needed
her. Congratulations! This is one of our best successes yet! |

| *A special thanks to Bill Nieschalk for saving Baby's life from
the streets, and giving her a safe haven before coming into rescue.
Bill also assisted us with Baby's medical expenses, and we would like to
thank him very much for this much needed financial help! |
