Jonathan Jackson

When Jonathan Jackson flew to Dublin to star in James Sheridan's latest film, Smiling suicide club, he had no idea what to expect. Thankfully, the cab driver who picked him up on his arrival offered a basic tip. He told the DEOTO star, "Well, you've pretty much got your pubs and you've got your churches". A devout Christian, Jackson opted for the churches, spending his downtime visiting cathedrals and attending services. He even sneacked into an empty church once to play the piano.

A huge U2 fan, the actor made shure to hit all of the band's landmarks, squeezing in time for some day trips that took him to the Wicklow mountains and a 6th-century monastery at Glendalough. The only american guy in the cast, Jackson had to adjust to his colleagues' ideas of fun. "There's very little variety in what to do on a Friday night", he says, refering to the dominant pub culture.

"Everyone's really very nice and friendly, but I prefer to be in a place where you can do stuff : baseball, football, bowling". Now at home in L.A, his TV movie Trapped in purple haze airs this month, the daytime emmy award winning actor is eager to host the Irish friends he made abroad. " I want to take them to the beach and all the Hollywood sites, maybe even a Dodgers game ".
