Character's Full name:
Sir Edward Nicholas MacKensie, Bart. -- goes by middle name
Occupation:
Lord of Leisure, league clown
Physical Description:
About 6' high, slim of build with lean, somewhat gangly limbs that serve him well in fencing and riding. High, prominent cheekbones and a square, cut jaw giving him a very angular, chiselled appearance. Soft brown hair that threatens to turn blonde after summers in the sun and that, to his great chagrin, curls drastically, no matter what lengths he goes to to keep it under control. Hazel eyes that like to appear green more often than not, and are constantly smiling, no matter what trouble he has recently landed himself in. He dimples when he smiles, fortunate enough for straight, even teeth and a strong mouth that lets on to his more stubborn tendencies. He would prefer to be in his riding breeches and a casual woolen shirt, open at the neck, sans cravat, any day of the week, and loathes any type of formal dress, which he is constantly forced into.
Friendships/Relationships:
Grew up with Hastings, Bathurst, Galveston and several other prominent members of the league. His closest friends are Sir Richard Galveston and Lord Antony Dewhurst. He is least fond of Lord John Bathurst and worships his leader and idol, Sir Percy Blakeney.
Personal History:
Born in Northern Scotland. Mother died at an early age so his father sent his three children off to live with a cousin in England while he travelled the country and later sailed to America, only to be killed in the American Revolution years later. MacKensie, the eldest, inherited his father's ample inheritance and spends it quite freely, most especially on expensive horses, gambling, foreign drink and random travels abroad. He attended Harrow's with several others now involved in the league and became fast friends with Sir Richard Galveston, who is his closest friend to date. MacKensie originally meant to purchase a commission in the army, since he was too old to join the navy by the time he realised the great love he had for the sea, but was interrupted in doing so by the untimely death of his younger brother and the need to remain close to his only sister. Then followed the beginning of the French Revolution and the invitation to join the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel, which encompassed all of the young Scot's desires -- adventure, purpose, sport, justice and the ability to assist those less fortunate than he.
MacKensie would like to think of himself as a ladies-man, but has a terrible time with the fair sex. For a man of constant wit and good humour, he finds himself utterly tongue-tied in front of a pretty face and long eye lashes and usually has a need to coax one of his friends into doing the talking for him.
Character's connection to the Revolution:
Working against.
The League:
Loyal to his Chief and prepared to lay down his life for any one of his comrades (though it would irk him to waste his young Scottish blood and good looks on the likes of Bathurst).
