Favorite Quote:
"His cheeks were glowing, his eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. He looked very young and very eager. Armand St. Just, the brother of Lady Blakeney, had something of the refined beauty of his lovely sister, but the features though manly--had not the latent strength expressed in them which characterised every line of Marguerite's exquisite face. The forehead suggested a dreamer rather than a thinker, the blue-grey eyes were those of an idealist rather than of a man of action." -Eldorado, Ch 1
Character's Full Name:
Armand Saint-Just
Occupation:
Probably aspiring to be a student of something, possibly classical studies.
Physical Description:
Armand is short (5'4") and strongly resembles his sister in coloring with the same dark auburn hair and blue eyes, though without the physical evidence of her firm character.
Personality:
Armand is friendly, idealistic, passionate and foolish. He is intensely loyal, especially to Marguerite, as she is his only family. His nature is to follow his heart, not his head. He's not stupid but woefully ignornant in many regards, and often does not pause to use what intelligence he does have before he's in the water with the sharks. He's sensitive about his youth, size and intellect. None of this should detract from his generosity of spirit.
Friendships / Relationships:
Brother to Lady Marguerite Blakeney; Brother-in-Law to Sir Percy Blakeney; Friend to members of The League and almost everybody else.
Personal History:
Orphaned at far too young an age to clearly remember his parents and separated from his beloved sister for most of his childhood, Armand reacted by cleaving even tighter to Marguerite when her budding acting career enabled him to escape the care of their disinterested cousins. He kept so close by her that the sparkle of her wit reflected on him as well. Also like her, he supported the fledgeling Republic in its earliest days. He missed Marguerite dearly when she married Percy Blakeney and moved with her new husband to England. Armand's political involvement kept him in France, although he assuaged his growing dissatisfaction with the extremities of France's new leaders by enlisting in the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel to help his new brother-in-law save innocents from the guillotine.
Character's connection to the League and the Revolution:
A member of the League, but also a Republican. Unfortunately, he is now known as a member of the League.
