Loving Arms Home Child Care's
Illness PoliciesNo child will be permitted in childcare if the following health conditions exist: 1. Children with minor cold symptoms (other then those described in this policy) may be allowed after morning health inspection, provided their symptoms do not worsen. Children who are unusually whiney, persistently crying or need to be held constantly are too ill to be in care. Be fair to your child, the other children in care and the provider and keep your child home.
2. A fever of 100 or more and the child must be fever free for 24 hours after the fever has broken without the use of a fever reducing medication.
3. Diarrhea Your child will not be permitted to return to child care until they have normal solid stools for a period of 24 hrs.
4. Any contagious illness, for example; chicken pox, lice or nits, strep throat, conjunctivitis (pink eye), cold/flu, cold sores, roseola, mumps, measles, rashes, etc.
5. Vomiting Your child will not be permitted back to childcare until he/she has not vomited for a period of 24 hours.
6. A runny nose with any color (milky white, yellow or green) or frequent clear discharge from nose sufficient to create unsafe sanitary environment.
7. If your child is prescribed antibiotics, he/she is not permitted to return to childcare until 48 hours from the original dose being administered. Doctors slip is required for re-enrollment.
8. Should your child become ill while in care, he/she will be separate from the other children. You will be contacted and expected to pick your child up within one hour. If your child is not picked up with in that hour you will be charged an additional $50.00. I DO NOT WANT THIS MONEY. I just you to be there to love and care for your sick child.
9. I provide full disclosure to my clients if any child in care has been diagnosed with any contagious illness, so that you may take the proper precautions.
10. Immunizations must be up to date and should try be scheduled on Fridays afternoons. Children who have just received an immunization must not return to care for 24 hours to insure your child will suffer no reactions or fever due to the shot.
11. If you attempt to conceal an illness with medication before enrolling your child for the day, be aware that this is deceptive and grounds for termination.
PLEASE NOTE: I understand that there will be times that this might create a hardship on you. The above rules are designed to protect the health and well being of all the children in this daycare.
