| The Telemarketers story the sad but true life of a telemarketer |
|||||||||||
| So I can say that I can relate to Willy Loman. I have tried the life of telemarketing. A form of sales that I would never wish to try again. I have experienced getting rejected day after day and dreading going back. It was my first job. I came bright eyed and bushy tailed. I couldn't turn the job down because at the age of fifteen they were offering ten dollars an hour. How could one refuse? I also didn't know what I was getting into. People would scream at you, personally attacked you. People swore and were very cruel. I was not one of the pushy telemarketers, and I really wasn't all that good. I would only continue if they sounded interested and wanted to hear more. We were a window washing service, and we also cleaned gutters and siding. We had outragous prices and it was hard to sell to those that lived in a house. I had to drink lots of coffee to continue to be nice and perky. Its way harder than it looks and eventually when I couldn't take it anymore... I QUIT! | |||||||||||
