| THE BAND INFO |
Mitch began with a band called World Orgin. They played only one show, The Battle of the Bands...and they won!! Honor Among Thieves formed in 1990 made up of University of Maryland, College Park stundents. The members were Dave Scheraga (Bass), Mitch Allan (Guitar and Lead Vocals), Jim Wiley (Drums), and Seth Lankin (Lead Guitar). Two years later Jim quit and the band when through drummers like you wouldn't believe. Honor Among Thieves was very popular in the Mid-Atlantic region. They went to New York a couple of times to play for record companies. But record companies at that time were shying away from Baltimore/DC bands. Mitch really really wanted to get signed, so he decided to move to New York and try getting signed from there. But unfortunately, Seth and Dave didn't want to move. That left Mitch with no band and no desire to go to New York. Mitch played with "The Baltimore City Small-Star," which was full of people who wanted to play. Mitch loved the idea of Honor Among Thieves so much that he stuck to it. He begain it all again. The members were: Mitch Allan (Guitar and Lead Vocals), George Bold (Guitar and Lead Vocals), Jeff Reid (Bass), and Brian Gannon (Drums). Sooner than later, Brian needed surgery on this wrists which meant that he couldn't be a drummer any more. Soon after Brian left, George also left and recently was signed by a national record company under the name Rebel Amish Radio. It was just Mitch and Jeff now. Mark Beauchemin was a major fan and was a regular to see Mitch and Jeff play. He made it from the floor to the stage for good. Dan Garvin joined the group playing the drums, and because Mark knew how to play the keyboards, the new line up was great! About this time, Honor Among Thieves was recording the CD "Grow." They sold over 7,000 copies alone, but record companies still just weren't listening, even though Honor Among Thieves was great. Mitch, Jeff, Mark, and Dan heard about a management company called Deep South Entertainment. Soon, they singed on with Deep South, and changed their name to RadioStar. Deep South got them playing all over the eastern coast and even in the Flordia Keys sometimes. After a while, they decided that they were good enough and would be signed. They told the companies, which they sent packages to, that they were going to be signed, and they wanted the companies offer. It worked and the band eventually signed with RCA Records. While checking global distribution, they found out that there was another band with the name RadioStar, so the band changed it, and decided on SR-71. (Which is the fastest fighter plane) SR-71 has recorded the album "Now You See Inside" and also has released their first two singles. "Right Now" and "Poilitcally Correct." SR-71 is doing great! Thier fame keeps growing as more and more people hear and like thier music! We have to keep this trend going! Call your local radio stations and request "Right Now", "Politically Correct", and "Another Night Alone" so SR-71 can get as much airplay as possible! |
