| Loss
Darkness cradles me too tight It is my world, eternal evil night Fear is here, anger and pain Sorrow driving my heart insane And like a prayer, tiny light From my breast my heart fights My breath catches in my throat The light grows, a quavering note A star shines before me, alluring Beautiful, which I find assuring And yet terrible, all in one Glowing waves reach my mind, to stun In a trance, I reach for the star It draws back, farther than far Then it's gone, never to return I was too slow and for that my heart yearns The awful darkness is back Pressing on me 'til I crack From burning eyes, hot tears fall The dark returns, I'm in it's thrall |
