| A Feather Fell ***** A feather fell down from the sky. I dipped its tip till the ink ran dry. On the parchment are scribed words and dots, To save for posterity a poets thoughts. ***** A feather fell down from the sky. It weighed much more than all your lies. For even as you spoke to please, Your words do float away in the slightest breeze. ***** A feather fell down from the sky, Now on my grave stone it does lie. And contained on it the words you said. Which like me now, even then were dead. ***** A feather fell down from the sky. It brushed your cheek and it made you cry. For then you thought what might have been, Had your words been true every now and then. Penned By:Robert Edgar Burns Florida (c)Robert Edgar Burns |
