JUNE 12TH, 1970

It was June 12th, 1970,
The day I became a man.
Though I was just 17 years old,
My life now had a plan.

On Valentines Day I proposed to you,
And asked you to share my life.
How surprised I was that day,
When you agreed to become my wife.

33 years have come and gone,
So I could write a poem like this.
And I swear to you another will come,
When we get to 66!

Happily ever after,
Only occurs in fairy tales.
But if we remember only good times,
Then ever after will not fail.

If today was just the beginning,
And I could see this far,
I still would jump in head first,
Toward the girl who owns my heart!
