The car comes with an outstanding warranty including roadside assistance when purchased, but unfortunately, the time comes when it runs out. If you buy an extended warranty before the original expires, it's cheaper.

What to look for when shopping for an extended warranty:
  • Reputable Company
  • Contract takes effect as soon as you buy
  • Where repairs can be done (You don't want to be limited)
  • Transferable (Goes with car if you sell - increases value of car)
  • What level (There are 3 levels- 3 is the best - bumper to bumper)
  • 100% money back guarantee
  • $0 Deductible or one deductible per visit
  • Provides you with a car or reimburses you for car rental and towing.
  • Pays now (You don't want to pay now and wait for them to reimburse you)
  • Includes breakdown and wear and tear
  • Covers ABS and overheating
  • 24-Hour Roadside Assistance (A nice addition)
Some people say that they got a better deal by buying online, but at the time I purchased mine, I found a better price through a dealer. I purchased a 5 year,75,000 mile,$0 deductible General Motors Major Guard Protection plan with 24 Hour Roadside Assistance. With the GM Major Guard you can have your car serviced at any GM dealer in the country. You'll never be limited there.
This plan gave me everything I was looking for at a great price. Be sure to shop around. The list above was very helpful to me.

Be sure to keep up on recommended oil changes
