Thanksgiving Dinner
The turkey has just been taken from the oven, bisquits are piping hot, the corn, potatos, carrots, squash and turnip are heating on the stovetop, and the pumpkin pie is now cooling on the cupboard. The table looks beautiful, covered with a tablecloth and set with the finest china and silverware. Everyone gathers merrily into the dining room as Mother gives the call that dinner is almost ready! The aroma is very pleasing and everyone is more than ready to dig in and enjoy this bountiful harvest feast! Before carving the turkey and filling their plates, everyone bows their heads and folds their caring hands, as Grandfather says the grace, giving thanks to God for the blessings of a successful harvest, good health, salvation, and family. It is a Victorian Thanksgiving!
