Christmas Shopping
Imagine the hustle and bustle of a busy, cobblestone street. Carolers singing on street corners, their voices ringing through the winter air. Ladies walking arm-in-arm with handsome gentlemen, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Christmas season. Children wistfully looking through shop windows at the colorful items on display, hoping that they would find some of them beneath the tree on Christmas morning. Imagine entering a mercantile where you are greeted by the scent of pepperment and licorice and cloves. You look around at all of the merchandise and try to decide what to buy as a gift for that "special someone". You see painted sleds for children and rocking horses and at the other side of the room you see itmes which appeal to the lady customers. Fancy hats, boots, dresses and fans. For gentlemen there are imported cigars, pipes, hats, pocket watches and handkerchiefs. The shop is brimming with possible Christmas gifts, it is now up to you to choose the perfect one. Christmas shopping the Victorian way....how pleasant!
