The name "Bubble and Squeak" gets it's name from the sound that potatoes and cabbage make on the skillet. A ghoul is a monster that was said to dig up graves and eat the rotting human flesh. It kind of makes you think of what the Weasleys keep in their attic, doesn't it? People always thought that mermaids were hard to catch, yet that is not necessarily true. All you had to do was take one of their belongings(comb, mirror etc..) and they would go after it. Once captured they could not leave until they reclaimed their stolen possesion. Mermaids were coveted by men who wanted these beautiful and enchanting women for wives. Conveniently, mermaids were said to desire human husbands, not only for love, but,also to have a soul, which all merpeople lacked.
