So very dusty and bitter
Lay's an angel wilting away
She holds a worn letter
Written in scribble are her visions of the better
And the wish for happiness she could never find
She's got a knack for rhyme
To pass away her endless time
She cries tears streaming with betrayal
And in her hands she carries her honesty
The one that carried her through everytime she fell
She was so beautiful
So peaceful
So giving
But hatred and pain destroyed all her grace
They shot her wingless in the air
Sent her falling on her face
I tried to catch her silky feathers
But I couldn't find enough to hold her tiny wings together.
They're broken; fractured with regret
In her heart she yearns to forgive and forget
But the sun went down along time ago
And it hasn't returned yet.
She flutters in my heart
Like a butterfly in a jar
I feel her everyday
I feel her in every way
Forever in my heart
