| Dusty and forgotten In my closet corner sits A string instrument Of years long ago With so many memory bits Of the magic created with its bow And the passion I once had I thought I had lost And I thought it was for good A commercial With flashy diamonds And all things superficial 'A diamond is forever' And in the background Played a song I long forgotten It went by the name of 'Presto' And was penned by 'Vivaldi' It reminded me Of that night When I was on stage Violinist of honor And I played 'Vivaldi' As if it was penned by me Its been 5 years Since the last time I touched its neck Its scroll The bridge that kept The stings well stretched And the bow That I used to rosin With reason Hasn't been moved For many seasons And with the words 'A diamond is forever' In my heart it struck a chord And passion was reawakened From its deepened sleep You see I played the fool For I have never lost it It was just hidden deep Beneath the layers of pain That had made me forfeit The string'd game In the first place. For the first time In such a long time I placed the wooden body Underneath my chin And felt the electricity Come alive in me And the power I once felt Once again was coming to be And it soared through me It overwhelmed me Then the bow touched the string And made the most beautiful sound I played as it sang Tears moistened my eyes And I don't know why For a passion I thought had died Was so very much alive 'A diamond is forever' Presto Vivaldi Me Destiny Passion Reignited Tonight Forever.... |
