Paris In New York xx
xx Back
you are like a fake eiffel tower in the middle of new york
looking so much like you belong, but i see you so out of place
i once used to sit by your tower believing i was actually in paris
but now i sit beside this tower called you and all i can feel is disgrace

you used to look so big and strong; i admired you for that
but seasons change and so does the suns glare, showing your cheapness
i once used to think you'd forever remain, but now your weakened with rust
and i can't believe i needed something so frail to hold onto for so long

you were once the adjective to my every noun; i couldn't help myself
and all that i thought you stood for, was only for my simple appeasing
because as the years sailed by, my eyes began to see all that you lied about
you claimed to be the eiffel tower, but i should have known this is new york
--not your make believe paris that i believed in like such a fool
