Liberating Potion xx
xx Back
there was a man
who sold a drink
on a random street
in the land of liberation

for a mere quarter
he promised a solar eclipse
when the last drop touched my lips
forever i would be coverted

so i gave him the silver
and began gulping his potion
so little; but so plentiful
i drank and it kept coming

as the sun set admist the hours
i panicked as tears fell; i felt the same
the man left just as fast as he came
and i swallowed but it still poured

just before the sun disappeared
the moon shot out of my paper cup
in its black backpack, the stars it kept
for a moment i was drowning, but still i was breathing

it covered the sun, letting darkness come
i was blue, but my heart still beated
i was scared, but i still anticipated
and i couldn't hear, but i still understood

and just like a butterfly from a cocoon
the sun and moon seperated so beautifully
stars shot across the sky so eloquently
i felt like i was reborn; no longer a fool

i swallowed my last gulp
pulled the cup away from lips
realizing just where i truly was
but the man was gone, as was the taste

yet i was recreated
and my soul, liberated
for a quarter worth
of that mans liberating potion
