| You take another drink of your temporary cure One to only drown the pain in which you fight A battle to be loved, to find what seems so mere Seems you are incapable of knowing whats right You swallow again as your chest burns like fire It used to be worse, but now you've gone numb A mind full of thoughts drive you to the edge of desire For you want your chest to burn love, not of rum You sit there every night to escape insanity One brought on by trying to please everyone But you don't please yourself, you live unjustly For its not how many smiles you give, but the one you wear You've become a mess, one you hardly recognize Lost are your thoughts that used to write Once before you were too an eloquent brilliance There is no reason to rhyme when nothings right You drink another cup and then the rest of the bottle The yearning never dies no matter how you dilute it Soon theres no burn, no taste- its just the liquid you trail You want someone to save you, but no one makes it on time You'd never imagine these words coming from safety One you've never seen and one you will never acknowledge Breathe you must again before you find this poetic sanctuary Put down your intoxicating cup, don't you see? 'I am here', she whispers to you in her dreams She see's you dying and wants to save what she cannot You have to save yourself, before she finally reaches For you are her moon, just as she is your sun So put down the ocean you drink from that glass cup Cause what you want is there, you just have to look up |
