Apathy, Empathy, and Sympathy xx
xx Back
Apathy lies on the floor with a blank-blank stare
Slowly suffocating with life it ceases to feel
A bullet of emotion shot in the chest, like a hopeless flare

Empathy stands in the corner with a lost-lost gaze
Wondering why it must care when others are simply careless
A gun remains; fired in the agonizing hope that the pain never fades

Sympathy watches a crime scene with a sad-sad face
Mourning the loss of two opposites hopelessly attracted
A memory of utter indifference driving one insane--remains

And if they only knew, where apathy does not exist--
Empathy has no reason and sympathy, no life
