THE NECESSITY OF BAPTISM There exists today in Christianity, a schism among believers regarding the necessity of baptism in the conversion of lost souls. I believe the Holy Spirit has led me to put together this study so that, not only may we understand his Word, but come back to full obedience to it, as well. God has a salvation plan for all of those who would seek him. How does baptism fit into it? Why does the mere mention of baptism provoke division among believers? Why has modern Christianity decided to eliminate such an important part of Gods plan? After all, the Lord Jesus meant what he said in Matthew 28:19-20 when he directed Christians to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. We are warned in 2 Peter 3:16 not to change Gods word, though sometimes hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Thats right, Christs remaining with us in this life, and our being with him in eternity, is conditioned on our being faithful to His word! Lets Rediscover the Essentiality of Baptism as the Means that God uses to Reconcile Sinful Man to Himself |
