Well we all know him, right? hihi. But still some do not know what happened to him in Tsuioku. I'll make it short, so many other sites have made this already and they are so informative. And I don't have the time to make mine very long and informative. heheh. Ok, Kenshin was the Hitokiri Battousai. While killing someone, a woman smelling of white plums was there. Tomoe saw him, and everything. "You made it rain blood." After a while, she fainted because she was drunk. Kenshin didn't know what to do to her, she was a witness, but he forgot that she should be killed. He didn't want to leave a witness and a woman in the middle of the night alone, so he brought her to the Ohagi Inn, where he lives. He was irritated at her first(but they were also interested at each other), all her irritating responses(for Kenshin. I think they were cute. teehee)and her questions about killing etc...but of course Tomoe's striking questions made Kenshin think a lot. "If I had a weapon in my hand, would you kill me?" "No...not you, never..." After that Kenshin was no longer irritated at her. The Ikedaya incident happened, the inn got burned, the two of them had nowhere to go. Kogorou Katsura, Kenshin's leader, told Kenshin to hide in a house prepared for him in Otsu, and told Tomoe she could stay with him and pretend to be his wife, and Katsura left them. "What do I do? I have nowhere to go" "I can give you money if you want to leave...No that would be mean of of me to tell you to go. Let's live together, but not just for show, if you like.^o^ Until death do us part..."
They lived together for 6 months. Kenshin found happiness. And he knew what happiness exactly was. At the end of autumn, Tomoe's brother, Enishi came to "visit". He wasn't all that nice to Kenshin. When Enishi left, Tomoe told Kenshin of her past, about her life and fiance, still not revealing the name Kiyosato. She cried on his shoulder and Kenshin comforted her(aww...^.^). Kenshin also told her of his life, beliefs and finding happiness because of her. He told her that when the new era arrives, he will no longer kill. He told her that he would protect her whatever happens. The next morning, Tomoe left him. Kenshin woke up and did not find Tomoe beside him, just a letter containing her whereabouts. He was furious, and went off to the mountain to get her back. While fighting, he lost a huge amount of sight, hearing and intuition. While fighting the last of the Yaminobu, Kenshin thought he couldn't make it. He decided to sacrifice himself. "Goodbye, Tomoe. Live in the new era and be happy. I'm sorry." And in that final blow, he smelled white plums. Tomoe leapt between them, holding a dagger. The dagger flied high and landed on Kenshin's face, making a horizontal scar. Kenshin slashed Tomoe including the Yaminobu's leader. Kenshin is so surprised. "Why?..." "It's all right ... So please don't cry..." Tomoe smiles then dies in his arms.
Two weeks passed, Kenshin still does not understand why Tomoe would do such a thing. He found Tomoe's diary and read the first entry: "Today we received word that Kiyosato Akira had been killed. Though I can hardly believe it, I am filled with regret that I did not stop him from leaving. Now--" And thus found it out. Tomoe sacrificed herself because she didn't want her loved one to die...like what happened before. And so, he tells Kogorou that he will no longer kill in the new era in honor of those he has killed, specially Tomoe.
thoughts: I love.......this guy! Kenshin is so awesome. I liked him so much in Tsuioku...(battousai) hehehe... specially when he gets irritated. kawaii! o.0 teehee...but too much of Kenshin's rurouniness pisses me off though...>.< ?tomoe-dono? doesn't sound good...>.< But it's ok too be in the middle. ^^ |
