Feathers of white float down from the sky.
They paint the trees and highlight the buildings.
They land in her golden hair, giving her a halo of white.
Her gloved hand brushes snowflakes from her eyelashes as she giggles with delight.
She looks at me, and smiles, then huddles closer for warmth.

Remember the night you fell asleep beside me?
I remember how you looked at me that way.
You held me, for just a second, when you hugged me.
So close, yet so far away.

I walk alone
The wind at my back my only company
I walk alone
But I belong to me

Trusted once-
And came out a fool.
Cared once-
And ended up heart broken.
Dreamed once-
And watched it shatter in my hands.
Loved once-
But my love went away.
Once burned,
Does a heart ever heal?
