What kind of bait does it take
To catch an angel by the lake?
Do you use food to set the mood?
Or perhaps music will draw them to you
Maybe candlelight flickering just right
Like stars twinkling in the night
Or maybe tears will draw them near
I've been trying all these years
Only one angel have I found
And scarcely did I make a sound
I watched her throughout the night
But when I said hello she fled in fright
I know, I could have sprung my trap
As by the lake she happily sat
But in my plan that was not a part
I simply have too gentle a heart.
