Jesus

2000 years ago Jesus Christ walked the dusty roads of ancient Israel. To-be-sure He was no ordinary man. He was the son of the King of the universe. This may sound like something out of a science fiction novel but it is substantiated by more than 25,000 manuscripts - in fact, it is the best documented event of the ancient world.
He was not of high birth, He was born among the common people. Even as He knew He was the son of God, He was not proud or arrogant - quite to the contrary, He was compassionate, honest, responsible, virtuous, and the list goes on.

His Mission
Jesus came with a single profound mission. His mission was to save you and me from a terrible event that will take place at some time in the future.
Jesus came because of God's great love for mankind and God's desire that everyone would be given the opportunity of avoiding this terrible future event. Jesus was innocent, he had done nothing wrong! He came to earth because He loved and valued us. He came to substitute His life for ours. He was innocent and had done nothing to deserve death and this very extraordinary virtue made him an ideal candidate to take our punishment. We were guilty of rebelling against God and deserving of death. He chose to die for us and in the process, opened the door for our forgiveness - to save us from eternal suffering. He came to tell the truth about life and to help those who are sincerely seeking for answers to life, to find the truth as revealed by God.
Jesus stated that mankind in general had strayed away from His father, and our creator. Worse than this, He stated that mankind is at odds with God - humans don't recognize God's rightful rule over them. Further, mankind is ignorant of His kindness toward them, unaware that any happiness or warmth in our lives is a gift from Him. Life without God's goodness is painful, empty, meaningless, it is God that gives good things even to those who oppose or ignore Him. To some degree He is good to all men and women but one day He will ask us to give an account as to how we lived our life and there will be eternal life or eternal death for every man and woman.
