Benjamin Franklin Tripp was born Feb. 14, 1833 in Illinois and died April 28, 1906 in Mulberry, Crawford County, Kansas. He was living in Kansas as of 1871. He was a Civil War Veteran; in Company B; 81st Regiment of the Illinois Infantry; he was in Military Service between 1862 and 1865; his residence in Illinois was Murphysboro.
He enlisted in the military August 4, 1862 as a Private. On August 26, 1862 he was mustered into B Co. Illinois 8th Infantry; mustered out August 5, 1865 at Chicago, Illinois. He was listed as POW in Andersonville Confederate Prison, he was captured 06/13/1864. |
