A tribute to Shirley F. Talley
My Mother In Law was a unique person.
Love and consideration to all, she did feel.
At first she unwillingly gave me her son,
But shortly she realized our love was real.
She made me feel like I belonged,
To the small family she claimed as her own.
I enjoyed being the daughter she never had.
I always loved her in good times and bad.
If I had a problem, she had an ear,
Giving advice, if I was willing to hear.
If I had good news, she had a smile,
Rejoicing with me all the while.
It's been almost a year since she went away,
To be in that family God claims for His own.
Her memories on earth are here to stay,
But she's sharing joys we have never known.
We miss her like crazy and oft-times we're sad.
But knowing she's with God and Hir own we're glad.
Someday we'll get to see her and it'll be great,
For each of us eventually that journey must take.
She'll be waiting by the side of the river,
Waiting for her loved ones, God to deliver.
Taking us away from this earth and its woe,
To live eternally; our GOD to behold!
