But in faith I asked him to
give us thirty days and in that
time we would both have jobs,
In the mean time, we were makeing
the neccesary repairs
with-in the home.
I had faith that God would
provide my husband and
myself jobs within the
requested thirty days,
The Real Estate Agent
said that he had a place
that needed repair, I was
happy and full of joy,
that I, "just had to tell
the Lord (Thank-You!).
Yes as the old gospel hymn
says, "Can't nobody do you
like Jesus". Here
We had only been in Racine
a few weeks, and now
we were moving into our
own new home, as the years
passed, I continued to have
more and more children.
If I were to count the two
that I miscarried, it
would be a total of
twenty-one (21) children, I
can remember delivering
twelve (12) children right
here in Racine WI.
My name had become a
household name in the
maturnity ward, because
of my numerous pregnancies.
One Christmas Season,
someone turned in our name
to some concerned citizens
in our neighborhood, who
were interested in help-
ing the needy families.
And that Christmas, we
watched the Lord move
in a mighty way. Our
neighbors brought us so
many gifts that we hardly
had room to recieve them.
There were; Dolls, Wagons,
Trains, Clothes, Candy,
etc. "everything you
could imagine". It really
did my heart good to see
my babies happy on
Christmas morning, I
said to my children,
"see there I told you
that if we trust in Jesus
He would see us through.
I was truely thankful
to the Lord.
It was one of the best
and most rememberable
Christmas that
I ever experienced.
We all had plenty. So
we gave thanks to
the Lord for what
he had done for us.
We prayed, played and sang
songs together all day long,
God really shed
his grace upon us abundantly.
Now Winter was upon us, once
again, "I still hadn't
got use to it yet" up here
in Wisconsin, the winters
were so long and cold.
This particular winter
was a really bad one,
and there were tons of
snow, "Old man Winter"
had really tightened his
grip and the temperatures
plummet to well below
zero, one cold and
blustery day there was
a loud startling knock
at the door, I thought to
myself, "Who in the
world could this be"
knocking like that,
"Who is it, "I asked"?"
"Is this the Hunters
residence?" he replied.
"The Sheriffs-Department" -
I thought to-myself,
in a split second all
kinds of things shot
through my mind, first
thing I thought, was
something happened to
my husband (you know
how it is when the
the Police suddenly
drop-by, its usually
to bring bad news).
When I opened the door,
the Sheriff asked again,
Hello Mam!, Is this
the Hunters residence?
