God's Great Outdoors
There is a place on earth for us Where sparkling water pours O'er rocks and sands of wilderness It's called God's great outdoors... Here is the home of fighting fish Den's where the bruin snores Huge mountain crests where eagles seek To share God's great outdoors... Yes, here is where the wild game roams Where gypsy bird life soars Where the sun, the wind, the rain and snow Meet in God's great outdoors... Here's where the din of raging storms Is hushed by tranquil shores Where life and death are next of kin Mixed in...God's great outdoors!... By:~B.H. Fisher~
Slow Me Down, Lord...
Slow me down, Lord Ease the pounding of my heart, by the quieting of my mind Steady my hurried pace Give me amidst the day's confusion The calmness of the everlasting hills Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles With the soothing music of singing streams That I may live in my memory Help me know the restoring power of sleep Teach me the art of taking " minute- vacations" Slowing down to look at a flower, chat with a friend Or just to read a few lines from a good book Remind me of the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare That the race goes not always to the swiftest That there is more to life than measuring speed Let me look up at the branches of the towering oak And know that it grew slowly and well Inspire me to send my own roots down deep Into the soil of life's enduring values That I may grow toward the stars...of... My greater destiny~Please~ Slow me down Loving Lord ! By: Wilfred Peterson
God Listens ~ Do You ?
The child whispered," God, speak to me"... And a meadowlark sang, but the child did not hear. So the child yelled," God speak to me"... And the thunder rolled across the sky, but the child did not listen. The child looked around and said,"God let me see you"... And a star shown brightly, but the child did not notice. And the child once again shouted,"God give me a miracle" And a life was born, but the child did not know. So the child cried out in dispair,"Touch me God"... Whereupon God reached down, and touched the child. But the child brushed the butterfly away, and walked on unknowingly... By: Anonymous
