Secret Samadhi cover                     Secret Samadhi back

"Free LOVE" was just another party for the hippies to ruin

The black album! Secret Samadhi is an album by Live unique from anything they put out to this point in their career. "Laid back...yet achieving aggression and vitality" are words Ed used to describe the album. So, you may be asking yourself right now, "What the heck does Secret Samadhi mean"? I've often pondered that question myself and still do on occasion. So, one day when I ran into Ed on the streets of York, Pennsylvania I asked him just that..."What the #%@* does Secret Samadhi mean"? And to this he replied, "Samadhi's a Sanskrit word and it, it means 'spiritual realization'. So, Secret Samadhi is just like describing somebody as something that's profound or esoteric or something that you can't necessarily quantify or prove with your eyes or...you can't taste it, you can't feel it, you can't see it with your normal senses. So, it's subtler than that but, something none the less very real." Man, is it just me or does it seem like even Ed doesn't know what the #%@* Secret Samadhi is?

Ok, so I never ran into Ed on the streets of York, Pennsylvania. In fact, I've never met any of the band members in my life! But, Ed did give that response to the meaning of Secret Samadhi in a radio interview once. Close enough, right?
