Scene 1:
Setting: Nicole and Ryan’s Penthouse
Time: 12:00 a.m
Maui Police are banging on the door. Ryan answers. “Hello” he says still half asleep. “You and your wife have to come with us.” Officer Jones demands. “What. Why” Ryan questions. “Your ex-fiancee Taylor McBride has been murdered, and you and your wife are the main suspects.” Officer Jones tells Ryan. Ryan starts yelling. Nicole hears his yelling, and wakes up. She grabs her robe. “Officer, what can we do for you?” Nicole questions. “Both of you are the main suspect in Taylor McBride’s death.” Officer Jones tells Nicole.
“Ryan. Come on. We know were innocent. We just go and answer a few questions and return home.” Nicole tells her husband. Ryan and Nicole leave the room to get dressed. “Ryan, what did you do to Taylor?” Nicole questions her husband. “Nothing. What about you?” Ryan asks. “Listen. I never did anything. I have no use for that women.” Nicole answers. Both get dressed and head to the den, where Officer Jones is waiting. Nicole grabs her purse. Unknown to all three of them, the knife that was used to stabbed Taylor, is in her purse. Officer Jones handcuffs both Ryan and Nicole. She takes them to her squad car waiting in the parking lot. As they leave the building, the press start taking pictures.
“Oh my god. How could they have already have found Taylor’s dead body. I’ll be fine as long as they don’t give me the Lie Decetor Test. Stay Calm Nikki, don’t blow your cover now.” Nicole keeps repeating this to herself in her head.
The Next Day
Scene 2:
Setting: Maui Country Club
Victor has just finished having breakfast with longtime friend George Unna. When George leaves, he notices a Mixed-Doubles Tennis Tournament. He goes and looks at the team. He thinks to himself that his ex-wife Julie would never want to play tennis as far as he knows, she doesn’t even like tennis. As he goes to grab the pen, he bumps into Hope Walker. Hope asks Victor if he has a partner, he tells her that he is looking. Hope asks Victor to be her doubles partner. Victor agrees. Victor asks Hope out to lunch at Oceanview. She agress. She leaves. Victor thinks back to older times before William Sr. Walker died, and when he and Hope were happily married. He wondered if Hope would be intersted in dating. Victor leaves with a good impression.
Scene 3:
Setting: Maui Police Headquarters
Nicole is in a room being questioned. Officer Jones continues to pressure Nicole. Nicole continues to refuse to answer until the police have solid eveidence against her. Suddenly officer Namma enters and tells Officer Jones that they found a pocket knife with blood and Nicole’s fingerprints all over it. Officer then tells Nicole that she’ll be in jail until the DNA test results come back. Nicole is taking to her cell.
Ryan is then brought in and questioned. He like Nicole refuses to reveal any information. After much pressuring Ryan reveals the fact that he got a bunch of roses sent to him from Taylor and on the card it said “Hit the Ground or Be Hit”. Ryan tells the police that he thought that Taylor was going to kill him and his wife. Ryan then stops answering questions. Officer Namma enters the questioning room and whispears to Officer Jones that the DNA results have come back. Officer Jones takes Ryan to his cell. She then goes to see the results.
Scene 4:
Setting: Damon House
Richard and Sharon are waiting in the den for Sharon, so they can hear her big news that she has for them. Sharon enters the room with a suitcase. “Now Richard, Jenna. Don’t be mad.” Sharon starts. “Should we be mad?” Richard asks. “Just listen. I would like the support of both of you not just one. So anyway as you both know, I want to find my biological mother. And I have some good news, I think I have a led. I have been doing a lot of searches over the internet, and someone said that they know someone who gave up their daughter for adoption about 18 years ago.” Sharon says with a smile while trying to stay calm. “Well whos the person?” Jenna questions. “Well… her name Mia Figaro of Paradise Cove.” Sharon says with exictment in her voice. “We both support you.” Richard tells Sharon. Richard leaves. Sharon goes up-stairs to grab a few more bags. “Sharon, can not go to Paradise Cove. I can’t let her know the truth about who her mother is, Mia will never understand.” Jenna says in her head. “Jenna. What’s wrong?” Sharon questions as puts her bags down. “I’m going with you.” Jenna response.
Scene 5:
Setting: Sydney. Australia
Julie has just arrived for her vaction to her sisters house Cassandra Homles. “It feels good to be away from my family. The divorce ended at the end of December, and this will give me a chance to look for someone new so I’m not always so alone. I couldn’t deal with that damn tennis tournament anyway. Why bother when Victor never plays and when he does he never picks me as his partner.” Julie thinks to herself. She grabs her bags and gets herself a taxi. She enters the taxi, gives the dircetions of her sister Cassandra’s home.
Scene 6:
Setting: Maui Police Headquarters
Officer Jones has just given Nicole the bad news that the pocket knife with Nicole’s fingerprints and all the blood over it, that the blood is Taylor McBride’s. Officer Jones starts questioning Nicole. Nicole finally starts answering questions now that the police have evidence on her. Officer Jones asks “Why is their blood on your pocket knife?” Before answering Nicole flashesback to the night before.
(Flashback)
“I’m going running Ryan.” Nicole tells her husband. “Wait, you were forgetting your pocket knife. I wouldn’t want you attacked again.” Ryan gives his wife. The couple kisses.
Nicole starts running down the city street. She runs past the dump, she then notices a dark shadow walking down a back alley. Nicole approches the person, it’s Taylor. “Taylor” Nicole said. Tay;pr responses by pushing Nicole. Nicole falls to the ground and her pocket knife falls out of her pocket. Taylor grabs the knife. “Well what’s this? Who are you trying to get with this weapon?” Taylor questions with a grin. When Nicole doesn’t answer, Taylor throws the knife and wishes Nicole a good-night. Taylor walked off into the night. Nicole got up, and left. Leaving her pocket knife behind.
(End Of Flash)
Nicole reveals all of the information of what happened during her run. She still claims why her pocket knife has blood on it. After being asked why are their only her fingerprints on the knife, she claims that Taylor was wearing gloves and that whoever picked it up and killed Taylor also must have been wearing gloves or something that made their fingerprints not to show up. Officer Jones takes Nicole back to her cell. While she is their, she releases Ryan. Ryan goes and tells Victor who is in the lobby, that they are fingering Nicole as the number 1 suspect.
Scene:7
Setting: Maui International Airport
A women wearing a black hat, and sunglasses boards a plane. “Don’t Worry Maui, I’ll be back.” The women says with a smile across her face.
Sharon, Jenna and Richard arrive at the airport. Jenna leaves to go get all of the bags checked. Sharon says to Richard “ I’m so happy that I can find my real mother. Even if this trip to Paradise Cove is a bust, I have a feeling that it will bring me and her closer together.” Sharon says. “Well I can see that you are turning over a new leaf. I’m glad that you want to be close with Jenna for the first time.” Richard says with a smile. “Well, I hated her when I was doing the weed and all the other shit. I needed to stop doing everything to see that she was loving me for me, and how bad I was hurting her.” Sharon says. “So does this mean no more drugs, alochol ?” Richard questions. “No. I’ll do everything I want to but just not around her. I want to be close with her, while continuing my habits.” Sharon says. “And I don’t want you giving me the speech about how bad it all is for me, I really don’t care. I like doing what I’m doing.” She says. Over the announce then announces that the flight to Paradise Cove is boarding at Gate 129. Jenna returns with all the bags. The trio head toward Gate 129.
Scene:8
Setting: Police Headquarters
Victor calls his lawyer Danny Hunter. He tells Danny his daughters situation. Danny tells Victor to inform his daughter not to do anymore talking without him being their to help her refuse to answer the questions. Danny then tells Victor that he will be their as soon as he can. Victor tells Ryan what he was told to do. Ryan requests a visit with Nicole, but is denied. Officer Gems tells Ryan and Victor that the prisoner has to be in jail for at least 24 hours before they are allowed visitation rights. Ryan and Victor go and sit and wait for Danny. Ryan asks Victor if he thinks that Nicole could have snapped and actually killed Taylor. Victor tells his son in-law, that when Nicole get’s mad it always get’s her in trouble. Ryan suggest that he call Julie, to let her know the news.
Scene: 9
Setting Maui International Airport
Sharon and Jenna arrive at Gate 129. Sharon hugs Richard good-bye, who wishes her the best of luck with her search. Jenna and Richard hug and kiss. All say their good-byes. Sharon and Jenna then board the plane for Paradise Cove. Richard starts walking back to the car. As he is walking, Richard notices Shawn watching from a distance. He runs and catches up with Shawn. Shawn questions him about where Sharon was going, Richard tells Shawn that she is going with Jenna to find her mother. When Shawn continues to ask where, Richard tells him that he doesn’t know. Sharon wouldn’t tell him. Shawn catches onto his bluff. Richard tells Shawn that if Sharon wanted him to know then she would have told him for herself. Shawn takes off. Richard arrives at his car. He gets in and drives off.
Scene: 10
Setting: Sydney, Austrila
The mystery women who boarded the plane lands in Sydney, Austrlia. “No one from Maui could find me here.” The women says. She then removes her sunglasses and is revealed to be the not so dead Taylor. “No one here knows me, and thank god for Dr. Young for switching the blood samples for me, to make Nicole look like she killed me. Nicole will have life in prison, leaving Ryan free to love me and raise our baby together.” Taylor says with a smile. She gets a cab, enters and leaves.
Julie arrives at her sisters beach house. The maid answers the door. She takes Julie’s bag to her room. She tells Julie that Cassandra will be back in a few hours, she has to run to the office to get s bit of work. Julie makes herself at home. She ponders calling Victor to check up and tell him that she is out of the country, she then reminds herself that she is an independant women, since she and Victor’s divorce was finalized at the end of January.
Scene: 11
Setting: Police Headquarters
Danny Hunter arrives and demands to see Nicole. The Officer tells him that it can’t happen, Danny tells him that he is Nicole’s lawyer, so if he doesn’t get in, then he will press charges. He tells Ryan and Victor that he will keep Nicole quiet until the trail.
Danny enters the cell with Nicole. Nicole breaks down, and admits that she never killed Taylor. He calms her down and asks her for everything she knows about yesterday. Nicole tells him that most of the day, she was getting ready for the wedding. She starts reliving the day before’s events.
(Flashback)
Nicole remembers getting up early, so she would have enough time to make sure everything was prefect for her wedding. Before going to the mansion, she had a coffee with her sister Kelly.
Kelly and Nicole are having a coffee before going over the mansion.
Nicole: I can't believe that this day, has finally arrived.
Kelly: I'm really happy for you.
Nicole: Thanks. I just hope that Taylor won't wreak my wedding.
Kelly: Why would she?
Nicole: She wants Ryan.
Kelly: What is she going to do shot you, as you walk down the aisle?
Nicole: Don't say that. It could come true.
She continues, and says that while the girls were getting ready Kelly made a shocking annoucenment.
In the master bedroom, Julie and Kelly are helping her with her hair and make-up. Kelly makes a shocking announcement.
Julie: Nicole, go and put on your gown.
Kelly: Nicole, wait. I have to tell you both something.
Nicole: Kelly, what’s going on?
Kelly: It’s me and Chad.
Julie: Did you dump him?
Nicole: Mother, quiet. What about you to?
Kelly: Well. Me and Chad are leaving town a few days after the wedding.
Julie: What! Why are you leaving?
Kelly: Mother, Chad’s father is dying. I want to be their to support Chad.
Nicole: Oh Kelly! I can’t believe that Chad is going through with being Ryan’s bestman when his father’s sick.
Kelly: Me and Chad are leaving tomorrow.
Julie: When did you get the news?
Kelly: Today.
The girls hug. Nicole then goes and gets her dress. She enters the bathroom and starts to put her dress on.
She says that she and Kelly have another bonding moment. Then she recalls the phone call from Taylor.
The Master Bedroom; Kelly and Nicole finish getting ready for the wedding. Nicole comes out in her wedding dress. She and Kelly bond once again.
Nicole: Well, what do you think?
Kelly: Oh Nikki. You look, like a bride.
Nicole (smiling): I’m a bride.
Kelly: And a beautiful one.
Nicole: Oh Kelly. Why are you leaving again?
Kelly: Chad’s father is dying. I want to be there for Chad.
Nicole: I’m going to miss our chats, and more importantly you.
Kelly: Well, I’m just a phone call away.
The sisters hug. They are interrupted by Chad who has to talk with Kelly. Kelly and Chad leave. Nicole does some finishing touches to her make-up. Suddenly her cell phone rings, she answers. Taylor’s on the other end.
Nicole: Hello.
Taylor: Well, Nicole. I can’t believe I got a hold of you.
Nicole: What do you want?
Taylor: Now is that anyway, your supposed to talk to somebody wishing you luck?
Nicole: Thanks for all your warm wishes Taylor.
Taylor: I’m not done, yet.
Nicole: Taylor listen I don’t have the time for you right now.
Taylor: Just shut up and listen. If you want to live, you are going to stall as long you have to. There will be a sign. When you see the sign, you duck and your sure to live another day.
Nicole: What’s that…(Taylor hangs up.)
Nicole then remembers, that Kelly and Chad had to leave to go and see his father who had just died from cancer.
The Family Room in Block Mansion. The Block family gathers to say good-bye to Kelly and Chad. All except Ryan, who has already said good-bye.
Kelly: So I guess this is it.
Victor: Chad, and Kelly. You take care of yourself and your family Chad.
Chad: Don’t worry Victor. I’ll do everything I can.
Victor and Kelly hug. He and Chad shake hands.
Kelly: Oh Nikki. (The sisters go to hug): I’m so sorry for missing your wedding.
Nicole: You won’t miss a thing. I’ll show you all the pictures when you get back.
Kelly: Promise?
Nicole: Promise.
Chad: Well Kelly we better be off.
Chad hugs both Julie and Nicole. He then grabs his bags and leaves.
Julie (crying): Kelly. Call me.
Kelly: Mom, stop crying. You look like a mess.
Julie: I know. And this is before the wedding.
Kelly: Well I better go. We have plane to catch. Bye Nikki, good-luck.
Nicole and Julie: Bye Kelly.
Kelly gets in the car. Chad and her honk until they are out of the driveway.
Julie: Why do I feel like I’ve lost her?
Nicole: She’ll be back. She’ll be back.
(End of Flash)
Scene: 12
Setting: Oceanview
Hope Walker is with ex-husband Neil Gates. “Listen, I told you that me and Victor are playing in the tennis tournament together.” She tells her ex. “There’s only one problem, you don’t know how to play tennis.” Neil tells Hope. “I can take lessions, the tournaments for a month or two. That’s plenty of time to learn.” Hope tells him. “Sorry to burst your bubble, but the tournament starts in 2 weeks, and you only get 1 lesson a week.” Neil says with a smile. “Whatever, I’ll do my best. Anyway who’s your partner?” She questions. “I’m calling her, so keep it down. Hello, is Julie there. (After hearing the response), okay, no message. Thanks” Neil says to Hope and the maid. “What’s wrong Neil? Julie refused to talk to you?” Hope says with a smile. “Julie’s out of town, until further notice.” Neil tells Hope. “Yes. Without Julie, this is my chance to get to know Victor. We can have a 1 on 1 talk.” Hope says with excitement. “Just because you have a crush on him, doesn’t mean, he likes you.” Neil says attemping to burst Hope’s bubble. “He likes me, and I bet you that we’ll be together by the end of the year.” Hope says as she grabs her pruse, “I’m off to get new tennis clothes.” Hope leaves. Neil is then brought the bill. He pays it and leaves.
Scene: 13
Setting: Sydney, Australia
Taylor is in her hotel room. She is undressing as she is about to have a bath. She opens her suitcase, and grabs a purple pillow. She takes the pillow and puts it around her stomich, did I fool everyone with this pregnancy pillow. My only problem now is to get pregnant or find a new born that I can take home and pass off as Ryan’s.” Taylor says to herself.
