written by: Pat Walsh edited by: Darren Rowe “A verdict you won’t believe!” Scene.1 Setting: Maui Court House “Everyone down!” Nicole screams as she she’s Taylor pull a gun from her pocket. “Mrs. Case, what is the meaning?” Judge Thomas yells. “Sorry, I saw something that wasn’t real.” Nicole says. “Is there any more questions?” The judge asks. “Not at this time.” Nicole steps away from the stand. She continues to look around the room to see where Taylor is. She takes her seat and grabs Ryan’s hand, who continues to tell her that everything is okay. Scene.2 Setting: Maui National Park Canadian Superstar songstress Celine Dion arrives at the park, where the annual town carnival takes place. When Celine turns and sees the stage, she takes her son and husbands hand and walks toward it. “Celine, your here. Great. This is the stage where you will b performing.” The mayor tells Celine. Celine walks up onto the stage and starts singing ‘Let’s Talk About Love.’ “Let’s Talk About Love; Let’s Talk About Us…” Celine sings. Scene.3 Setting: Maui Court House “None of the evidence points towards my client. The only thing that they have “linking” her to the crime, is the fact that they found an old prescription bottle from 1999. Someone could have found it and used it for themselves. There are 5 sets of finger-prints and only one was my clients. Nicole didn’t kill Taylor, the real killer is still out there, getting away with murder while Nicole is stuck in a courtroom proving her innocence. I urge you to do the right thing and set her free.” Danny says for his closing statements. “Nicole wanted Taylor dead for wreaking her wedding. Nicole was out “running” the time Taylor was murdered. Nicole’s prescription bottle was found at the scene of the crime. Is it me or is do all of these things point to her being the killer. All evidence points towards her. Yes there is nothing conclusive about the evidence that nails her down as the killer, everything speaks for itself.” The jurors are then sent out of the room to make a decision regarding the trail. Nicole stands and rushes into Richard’s arm for comfort, making Ryan jealous. Jenna quickly leaves the court room and goes and talks to Danny. Richard leaves going to look for Jenna. He goes outside and sees Jenna and Danny talking by Danny’s car. He quickly becomes jealous. He goes to get Jenna. “Jenna, I think everyone is gathering at OceanView.” Richard says “I’ll be in the car in a minute. I was just accepting Danny’s proposal.” Jenna replies . “A proposal for dinner in a few days.” Danny quickly says. “Can I get you something?” Ryan asks Nicole. “Advil. My head is killing me.” Nicole tells her husband. Ryan takes off in the car to go and get some Advil for Nicole’s headache. “Where the hell is dad?” Nicole yells at Julie. “He left.” Julie responds. Scene:4 Setting: Las Vegas Hope is watching the news, when it goes live to Nicole’s case. The reports show clips during Nicole’s time on the trail. “Victor! Victor! Nicole was on the stand today!” Hope yells at Victor. “What! We have to get back as soon as possible to comfort her.” Victor says as he quickly starts packing his bags. Scene:5 Setting: Damon Household The Damon’s have invited the gang supporting Nicole over to their house until they get word that the jury has made a decision. Nicole takes Richard up stairs. “Richard, I need your help. But you have to promise me that you will tell no one.” Nicole pleads with Richard. “I’ll do whatever I can.” Richard says. “I need help. I mean my little out burst..” Nicole says before Richard stops her. “What was that about?” Richard questions. “Listen. I saw Taylor. I have been seeing Taylor everywhere. She is haunting me. I see her bleeding from her stab wounds and she’s always trying to kill me. That’s why my wrists are slashed.” Nicole says tearing up. “You’ve got to help me.” “I can’t do anything but my wife Jenna can.” “No! Jenna can not know! She’ll blab to everyone. I can’t let Ryan know that I have a problem.” Nicole begs. “Fine. We’ll deal with it in a while. Lets back so no one suspects anything. Scene: 6 Setting: Turner Corner Store Shelly the hooker leaves the store, as Ryan gets out of his car. “Can I give you a ride tonight or some other time?” Shelly purrs. “Why are you doing this? You can be something better.” Ryan says. “Everyone’s got to make a living.” Shelly says with attitude. Ryan walks into the store and grabs some Advil. He goes to pay, the total comes to 5.99, he pays with a 10 and gets his change. He walks out and sees Shelly being picked by an elderly man. Ryan shakes his head in disappointment. Scene:7 Setting: Damon Household Jenna and Danny are in the basement, looking for hot bug buns as Richard starts barbecuing outside. “I can’t believe what’s happening to Nicole.” Jenna says “The jury has to know that she is innocent. Ryan will fall apart without her.” Richard runs downstairs. “Guys. The judge just called, the jury has reached a decision.” The trio take off up-stairs. Ryan enters and gives Nicole the advil. She takes a few and tells that its time for her fate. Scene: 8 Setting: Maui National Park “Bravo! Bravo! Great performance Celine.” Celine runs off stage and grabs her son. She quickly gets into her limo. “Lets go to our hotel and play in the pool with our son.” Celine says to her husband/manager. Scene: 9 Setting: Maui International Airport Victor and Hope arrive back in Maui. They are in the car, when the radio dj, announces that Nicole is about to learn, wheather she is going to jail or if she is innocent. “Step on it Victor, we’ll be late.” Hope cries. Scene: 10 Setting: Maui Court House; Friends and family gather in the court room. They all pray for the best regarding Nicole. Julie takes Nicole’s hand as Nicole asks Richard to hold her other hand. The Judge enters and asks the jury if they have reached a desicion. The judge is given the paper with the desicion written on it. He looks it over and returns it. “We the jury have reached a fair but suitable verdict. In the case of Mrs. Nicole Block-Case charged with murder in the first degree of Ms.Taylor McBride, we find the defendent….” Scene: 11 Setting: Damon Household Shawn has just arrived back at the house from school. He enters and goes to basement bedroom. He opens his door to find Sharon waiting for him. “Hi.” She says with a smile. Shawn enters and puts his bag down. “We need to talk, about us.” She says with a smile. “Sharon, I got the picture that its over.” Shawn tells his ex. “Is that how you want it? Cause, I want us again.” Sharon says. Shawn smilies back. The duo kiss. Scene: 12 Setting: Maui Court House Victor and Hope rush into the court room, and that stops the verdict from being read. After they are seated, the verdict is continued to be read. “we find the defendet Mrs.Nicole Block-Case who was charged with murder of the first degree of Ms.Taylor McBride… innocent of all charges.” Nicole starts crying as she hears this news. Nicole stands and unstead of going to Ryan who’s waiting for a hug, Nicole hugs Richard! She whispears in his ear “Thanks for everything.” Jenna rushes up to Danny and hugs him, causing Richard to become jealous. Julie and Victor hug at the front of the court room, causing Hope to become jealous, she then cuts in and hugs Victor.
