Now that you're gone,
I miss that smile hidden behind your red curls
and those trips with mom
to bring you soup
...even though I had to avoid the mosquitos
(everyone knew they carried your sickness too)
You were really cool, but Jimmy you went so wrong,
Jimmy, I miss listening to you talk with people,
In my youth I was too shy to speak
and Mom said 8 year olds shouldn't talk to people with Hiv.
I remember, each day you became a little more pale..
You had a slow, long death, so tragic and sad
Why did it happen?
Jimmy, you were so young.
