Herbert has always liked children.

He suspects the sentiment is not mutual.

He wonders if, genetically, he has anything to offer a child.

Perhaps his reluctance to bring another life into the world stems from his own traumatic childhood.

And there is the matter of convincing an actual woman that his questionable genes are worth the sacrifice of childbearing . . .

Sometimes it seems as if the rest of humanity is busy fulfilling their biological urge to multiply . . .

. . .while Herbert finds himself wondering if he even exists.

Herbert's reluctance to approach women makes it unlikely that he'll end up with anyone but the most aggressive, forward female. Even that seems improbable.

He knows that he has been programmed to think about this constantly, but is powerless to stop it.

At least Mr. Wiggles understands him.
