Her Story
Liberty can now walk without trying to duck for cover whenever anyone or anything passes us!

She knows sit and down, and is working on stay. She sits automatically before entering/exiting the house and for putting on/taking off her leash for walks.

She is food, praise AND toy driven when it comes to training! Makes this fun!!!
My sister and I found Liberty alone, abandoned, and sad in a local park when we took my kids and Abby out for a walk. She would barely eat, and walked so slow, and even with Abby barking and growling, she still approached us with pleading eyes.

A security guard in the area was locking up the park, and refused to call anyone to come out for this helpless angel. I asked if I could take her home, and he said he didn't care, so I carried her across the park, and we took her home.

Once we made it home, a whole 2 minute car ride from the park, our little angel was curled up and shaking, wedging herself between car seats, she was hard to get out.

I put her in the crate we had at home to let her relax, and put in a bowls of fresh water and food for her. She would only touch bits of hot dog the first night.

She was so weak and sad that my sister, neighbor and I did not think she would make it through the night. I wish I would have taken pics of her then, so you could fully appreciate her transformation, but I couldn't bear to subject her to that.

Our vet let us know that she had whelped her puppies about 2 months prior to us finding her. She had been pregnant on her first heat. This beautiful puppy, as young as she was, had given life to puppies herself.

After a few days of rest, vet treatment for severe worms, good nutrition and clean water, our angel started coming out of her shell. I no longer needed to pull her out of the crate to go potty, and she would come out on her own free will and explore the house.

Every day I watched as her confidence built, her tail no longer stayed tucked between her legs, and her eyes began to hold a look of contentment, peace, and safety.

I named her Liberty, and she has become a much loved member of our family.
