05.29.03.
Chelsie, her Dad, and Chase went to ACH today to view for the first time the final edit of the documentary they are doing of her recovery to be shown on their annual telethon showing this coming Sunday. While there, KSSN 95.7 Fm was broadcasting their annual Radiothon live from the lobby of ACH, and they interviewed Chelsie and her Dad live.  Check out pics of the week for some shots of the interview, and be sure to be tuned in this coming Sunday June 1 at 12 noon and 4:00 pm to see the film and see them interview Chelsie live.

05.25.03 - 05.28.03.
Chelsie has had a slow week so far compared to last week's trip to the beach.  It must have tired her out because she has been resting a lot these last couple of days. On Tuesday she had a trip the emergency room at Arkansas Children's Hospital again, but this time it was for her brother Chase because he broke his arm playing a baseball game, trying to steal third base.

05.19.03. - 05.24.03.
Chelsie and her Mom are in Panama City Beach, Fl for the whole week.  She really enjoyed her trip!  It did rain several days, but on those days the shopping places kept her busy. Chelsie returned home today. Maybe she took some pictures that we can post on the site for all to see her fun.

05.18.03.
Chelsie started her Sunday off by going to Sunday school and then church. Then she had to get herself all packed for her Senior trip to Panama City Beach, Fl. Her Mom is going with her to make sure she takes care of herself.

05.17.03.
Chelsie's goal was made tonight. She walked up the stage and received her diploma. When her name was called, the Lonoke School Board rose first to clap for her, then her class, and then the whole gym rose and started clapping and cheering for her. It was a very emotional night for her and her family and friends. After the event, there was a reception at her house, attended by family and friends. Tomorrow her and her Mom have to pack their things up for her Senior trip to Panama City, FL. Pictures of the events from tonight and earlier in the week will be posted in pics of the week and under Graduation pics.

05.16.03.
Chelsie started her day off going to Graduation rehearsal this morning. Then the big evening finally got here with heavy rain and thunderstorms.  It was decided to have the event in the gym instead of outside and then less than 15 minutes before it was supposed to start with the gym filled to the brim with people waiting, the tornado sirens started going off all around the area. So graduation had to be called off. So Chelsie and all her senior friends have to wait until tomorrow night to walk down that aisle

05.15.03
Chelsie's last day of school was today and it's a good thing it was because the only thing she can think of and talk about is tomorrow. Graduation is tomorrow--a goal she has been working toward since her accident.  She is very ready to graduate with her class and be able to walk up to the stage and get her diploma. She will do it.  Lots of prayers have been answered.

05.14.03
Chelsie got a good report from the Rehab Doctor at ACH today. She has progressed to Level 8 on the Rancho Coma Scale and the Doctor seemed very pleased with her progress and tells us Chelsie looks great. They have also started weaning her off her wake up meds. Then Chelsie was off to UCA for a campus tour, where she got to meet 3 of the OT students that had been studying her progress from their Professor and had lunch with them.  Check pics of the week later for some pics of her day.

05.13.03
No school for Chelsie today, so she went to Dad's office for the day with him. She did really well answering the phone and doing some paperwork for him. Tomorrow she has a follow up appointment with her rehab Doctor from Children's Hospital.  All of us look forward to see what level of the Rancho Coma Scale she will be classified in.  After the appointment, she will be off to UCA for a campus tour and a meeting with the lady over the Disability Services at the college.

05.12.03
Chelsie started her last week of High School today. No one has to be reminded of it either; she tells everyone she sees it's her last week. She doesn't have to go to school tomorrow, so she is going to Dad's office with him for the day. Maybe she can answer the phones and do a little filing for him.  We will see how she does.

05.11.03
Chelsie started her Sunday off by going to Sunday school and church. It was Senior day at church today. All the Seniors wore there cap and gowns and were introduced at church. It really seemed to excite Chelise even more about graduation wearing her cap and gown.

05.10.03
Chelsie made it to her goal of being able to walk nonstop 10 laps around the walking track at the Lonoke Community Center before graduation.  She did it without any problem, and she was even carrying 2 lb weights in each hand while doing it. She also started working on a new walking/running machine there and did very well at it. See pics of the week for pics from today's workout.

05.09.03
Chelsie recieved her letter of acceptence from the University of Central Arkansas today in the mail for the upcoming fall semester. She has a lot of work to do before the fall term starts.  She has along way to go to be able to do her school work and take care of herself while away at college.  Mom and Dad will push her all summer to get her to that goal.  Tonight she went to the Relay for Life walk for the American Cancer Society held at the Lonoke High School football field and track.  Chelsie walked 4 laps nonstop which equals 1 mile with some of her friends.  That is the longest she has walked nonstop since her accident.

05.08.03
Chelsie had a big day today. Mr Luther Evans from Arkansas Children's Hospital Media Services came to the house today to interview Chelsie, Mom, Dad, Chase and several of her friends about her recovery after her accident. So after the lights and camera were set up in the living room, everyone was interviewed and filmed and everyone was very nervous. It made several of us cry during the interview once we started talking about Chelsie's recovery. Check pics of the week for pictures of filming.

05.07.03
Chelsie had a day she has been looking forward to for a long time today. Today was class day--the day her senior class celebrated with the their friends with their families and the whole high school in attendance. The class sang and had a big celebration of their 13 years together in school. Be sure to check out the pictures link to see pics of class day.

05.06.03
Chelsie had her appt at the Eye clinic at ACH today to see about fixing her crushed right eye socket.  After the Dr. saw her and had a discussion with Mom and Dad, it was decided to wait at least a year before they attempt to fix it. They have scheduled her to see 2 more eye specialists in about 4 or 5 months. She does seem to have started having a little double vision out of her right eye.  It was Mom's birthday today, and all the family went to dinner for her birthday.

05.05.03
Chelsie was a happy camper today.  She finally got her broken tooth fixed that had been chipped when they put an airway down her throat on the way to the hospital the night of her accident. She also had a very good workout at the gym today with Dad. She has a doctor's appointment at Arkansas Children's Hospital tomorrow to see when they are going to fix her right eye socket that was crushed in the accident.

05.04.03
Chelsie started her day off by going to Little Rock to visit her grandparents' church this morning.  The whole church has been praying for her since her accident, and she decided that she needed to go meet them and thank them for all of  their prayers.  Then after lunch she had Baccalaureate Service at her church for the Class of 2003.  Next she was off to practice some songs for her Class day coming up later this week at Sara's house.  After practice, it was time for her workout at the gym.  Today was the day for completing 9 laps around the walking track on her way to her goal of being able to walk 10 laps before Graduation.  She did all 9 laps like a track star with 2 lb weights in each hand.  Chelsie has a very busy week ahead of her this week and even a busier one next week.  Also her headaches seem to have stopped for the time being.

04.28.03 - 05.03.03
Chelsie had a pretty much normal week at school and at home.  She went to lots of her brother's baseball games and did lots of homework.  It took her only a few days to get back to normal after prom weekend last weekend  Her walking seems to be getting better each day.  Her getting ready as far as dressing, makeup, and eating are starting to get closer to normal as well.
