Happy Birthday Terry
You are missed.

This is our memorial to our coworker and
friend of many years, Terry Mossholder.
We will never forget her. She enjoyed her
work and did it with a perfection that is
legendary. She came to work every day with
such zest - always laughing and talking -
and got right down to business ferreting out
typos and mistakes with a zeal that caused
word processing and the preparers many
anxious moments. A familiar refrain was
"Look at what Terry did to this report.
It is covered with red marks."

Terry had a great sense of humor, was very
compassionate and was a great advocate of
women's rights. Here in the office she generously
supported every good cause.

Her hilarious stories about the exploits of her
cat boys kept us in stitches. I don't believe for
a moment those cats can really talk. We miss
her very much. We're leaving an extra space
in our hearts for you, Terry.
Stet. Do not delete.

Terry

These pictures were beautiful and very touching. I worked with Terry for almost 5 years and we developed a relationship that I will treasure for the rest of my life. She taught me a lot and left me with very warm memories and good laughs. Her spirit will live on in my heart. She was a gem....

Terry

Terry was indeed quite the perfectionist, taking a great deal of pride in, and giving her all to whatever she did - especially when it came to friendship. She was one of the few people I knew that you could approach with any personal question, no matter the subject, without embarrassment. She was also well known for helping people out of jams.

She loved the arts and seemed to be an artist in her own right - with everything from her gourmet cooking to her green thumb that anyone would envy to her apartment that she took great pride in decorating. She visited every museum in NYC at least once, while probably visiting her favorites at least a dozen times each.

A friend of mine got married in 2004. I wanted to find the perfect gift and wondered where to go. As if she were standing right there I heard Terry's voice say "why don't you try MoMA?" Terry even had me (the most non-artistic person in the world!) going there from time to time. I said "thanks Terry. I'll give it a try." ;) Sure enough, as soon as I walked in I spotted the perfect gift for my friend. She was having a medieval wedding theme and there was a beautiful medieval picture frame. My friend said she loved it and asked how I found that perfect gift? I told her a good friend helped me.

Terry and Judy

Terry and her young sister, Judy
Terry often spoke of Judy - probably more than
Judy knew. :)
She was fiercely proud of Judy - there was nothing her sister couldn't do. If only Judy knew the reputation she now has to live up to. :)

Terry and Grandmother

Terry and Grandmother, Iva Whitmore Mossholder
This photo was taken during Iva's 100th birthday celebration. What a milestone - one that the family took great pleasure in celebrating!

The Cousins

John, Judy, Terry, Megan
Terry and Judy were very close with these younger cousins. You could sometimes think they were the parents as they took great pleasure in spoiling them with loads of birthday and Christmas gifts. John even got a chance to stay with Terry in NYC. The nation's long distance phone companies especially enjoyed the special relationship between cousins. :)

Terry and friends

Terry, Penny, Dru, Pam
Imagine about a century of friendship when you look at this photo. This is Terry and some of her closest friends (plus one very happy dog!) after one of their infamous card games. One face that's missing is Terry's good friend, Judy, who was taking the photo.

And now the ones who brightened Terry's every day, the cat boys!

Terry often regaled us with tales of things the cat boys did - whether it was flying a plane (the infamous cat pilots) or things they may have said to her (yes, they did speak English!) that will always bring a smile when we need one.

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight -
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach -
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!
