RMC's Gray Knob is nestled at 4,370 feet, just below the rocky outcropping on Nowell Ridge from where it receives its name. Gray Knob is located just below treeline, on the Gray Knob Trail, a few minutes walk east from Lowe's Path, and at the southern end of the Hincks Trail. |

Originally built as a private cabin by Dr. E.Y. Hincks family in 1906, the original Gray Knob received many renovations over the course of its 83 year life. In 1989, the building was torn down, burned, and replaced with a new facility. |
