The gorilla (Gorilla beringei) is the largest and strongest of all primates but surprisingly, it is the most sociable and gentle. They eat moist vegetables and have a young every 5 to 8 months. Most have furs coloured black as they live to suit their conditions in Zaire, Uganda, Rwanda and the reserves of Uganda in Africa.

Mountain gorillas belong to the family-Hominidae and the order-primates. Males grow to about six feet high and weighs up to six hundred pounds while the female gorilla grows to about five feet high and weighs up to two hundred pounds. Other features it include the fact that they have thumbs on their feet, ridges above their eyes and that their arms are nearly twice as long as their legs. Finally, I’d like to thank you for reading this chapter and hope you have received a full understanding of the Mountain Gorilla.
