Epitaph for Louis William Rose

Lou Rose has passed away, ha, ha, ho, ho.
No special claim on heaven he has made,
Except that upon Christ his sins are laid,
Were there another way he did not know.

His life was filled with grief and merriment.
Each day presented triumph and faux pas.
And now, after the final coup de gras,
It finds him altogether quite content.

Should someone seek to ask him for advice,
About the way a mans life should be led.
In answer he must humbly bow his head,
And hope these final words of his suffice.

I leave my fellow man with one regret,
That I have not loved more the souls I met.
