"What is Kopi Luwak?"
    Living  on  these  islands  is  a  small, tree-dwelling  marsupial  of  the  sibet  family,  known  as  the  Luwak  (Paradoxurus).  The Luwak,  regarded  as  pests  to  natives,  lives among  the  coffee  trees  eating  the  ripest, reddest coffee cherries.  The cherries are digested and the beans deposited on the 
    Kopi  (the  Indonesian  word  for "coffee") Luwak  is  one of the world's rarest coffee beverages, selling at $75 per  quarter  pound.  It  comes  from  the  islands  of  Sumatra,  Java  and Sulawesi,  which  are  part  of  the Indonesian  Archipelago's  13,677 islands, of  which  only  6,000  are  inhabited.

     Stomach acids and enzymatic action used in this unique fermentation process results in a cup of coffee said to be like no other in this world.  This exotic coffee has a rich flavour with hints of caramel or chocolate.

     You probably won't find Kopi Luwak at your local coffee shop, though some more adventurous coffee houses sell it by the cup!
