We went on a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the  week of our second church wedding anniversary. We went aboard Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the  Seas, one of the most amazing ships sailing the high seas. Enjoy some of our pictures during this wonderful week.
INSIDE NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
ST, THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
ST. MAARTEN DUTCH FRENCH ISLAND
NASSAU, BAHAMAS
The most innovative cruise ship at sea, the Navigator has everything from a rock climbing wall,  an ice skating rink,  a 9-hole miniature golf course, a spa, swiming pools to  a bustling boulevard lined with shops and cafes. Our ship sailed from Miami.
San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, dates back to the early 16th century. A spectacular walk  around the old town took us to the Fort of San Felipe and an amazing view of the bay. After enjoying the archictecture and history of the fort and its surroundings,  we went  through the narrow cobblestone streets and balconies ending up at the San Juan Bautista Cathedral.
Our day began with a scenic ride along Skyline Drive offering the most breathtaking views of Charlotte Amalie Harbor and the Caribbean Sea. We then went to the heart-shaped beach at Magen's Bay, rated by many travel magazines as one of the top ten beaches in the world. After having fun in the sun, we went to the famous Blackbeard's Hill, stepped back into the age of the Caribbean pirates and explored the 17th century Blackbeard's Castle.
As the Spanish closed their colonial fort on St. Maarten in 1648, a few Dutch and French sailors  hid on the island and decided to share it. Soon thereafter, the Netherlands and France signed a formal agreement to split St. Maarten in half, as it is today. We experienced a visit to two countries, Holland and France, in one tour and saw the differences between these two cultures in one island.
For a city now known for its warming sun and balmy breezes, Nassau has a tumultuous past. First settled by the English, the area was contested among England, France and Spain. For many years, Nassau was a homebase for notorious pirates. We went to the Pirates Museum and Fort Charlotte, built in the Napoleonic era to defend the island against marauding pirates.
KEY WEST, FLORIDA
Our trip to Key West, Florida, the southernmost part of the Continental US, was actually not part of our Caribbean cruise. We went to Key West  for our honeymoon - after our church wedding. However we just  found the film for this trip and had it recently developed so we're just including it in this webpage :)  In Key West, we strolled thru palm lined streets, tin-roofed conch houses, had a glimpse of Ernest Hemingway's house, went on a galleon ship trip and of course tasted the famous Key Lime Pie.
