Ted loved people and he loved family. Although he never had any grandchildren of his own he was an "adopted" Granddad. He visited and was visited by many nieces and nephews and friends. He was in great demand at parties and dinners because, ever the consumate actor, he had a wealth of stories to tell. Conversation never lagged when Ted was around.
Ted won several awards during his lifetime, including the Paul Harris Fellow medal, the Service Above Self and the Queen's Jubilee medal.
He was very active in fundraising for Delta Hospital, Delta Hospice and McKee House.
He was altruistic and always saw the best in everything.
He was loved.
As the eldest, it was never his intention to outlive all his siblings and he was devastated when his last brother, Chris died shortly after Christmas of 2004.
Ted remained active and vital until 2 days before his death.
He had planned one last trip to Texas for the following week to visit a dear friend.
Ted lived life the way he wanted to, happy and with no regrets. Ever the performer, he planned a party for after his death and surprised the many guests by appearing in a video on the wall, looking and sounding well. He told of how much he loved Delta and the people he had come to know.

As always he was the center of attention and managed to have the last word.

"In life....be happy."
