WILL OF JOHN IRWIN
I, JOHN IRWIN do make and publish this as my last will and testament.
First: I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money I may die possessed of or may come into the hands of my executor.
Secondly: I direct that all my mules except my two Mark jules and one horse colt which will be two years old next spring [be sold]. I also direct that eight bushels of clover seed be sold. I also direct that my son A. F. E. IRWIN have the darkest bay colt as his own property.
Thirdly: I will and bequeath to my wife LOUISA JANE all the lands that I may die seized and possessed of as long as she does not intermarry and in the event she does marry again then in that case her household and dower be laid off according to law.
Fourthly: In case my wife LOUISA JANE does intermarry after my death and household and dower is laid off to her I will and bequeath the remainder of my lands to my living heirs.
Fifthly: I direct will and bequeath all the household and kitchen furniture and personal property not mentioned in this will to my wife LOUISA JANE expressly for the use of the family.
Lastly: I do hereby nominate and appoint F. M. IRWIN my brother and my son A. E. F. IRWIN as my executors.

WILL Of JOHN HIGGINS
I, JOHN HIGGINS of Knox County State of Tennessee do make this my last will and testament.
First: It is my will that my just debts and all charges be paid out of my estate.
Item: I give and devise all the residue of my estate to JANE HIGGINS my wife to be hers forever. The said JANE HIGGINS is to sell ten acres of said estate known as the MARIEL tract of land which lies on the Clinton road and pay the just debts and expenses out of said land if there is a remainder it is to be divided among CATHERINE HAMILTON, CALLIE GOLLIUS, and SARAH McCLELLAN heirs.
Item: I appoint and make JANE HIGGINS exectrix of this my last will and testament.

WILL OF P. M. HOSKINS
I, P. M. HOSKINS being of sound mind but weak in bodily powers do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following to wit:
I give and order that my wife MATTY HOSKINS is to have my tract of land where I now live as follows:
To have full control of the same to receive their rents and profits of same with the following exceptions, that is to say, I order and direct that my executor shall at the time that my three children by my first wife TENNESSEE HOSKINS namely NETTIE C. HOSKINS, TENNESSEE GROVER HOSKINS & WILLIAM OLIVER HOSKINS to be paid $400 four hundred dollars cash when they arrive to the twenty one years of age, said sum being the money said TENNY HOSKINS paid through her father JAMES RUSSELL which was purchase money, and be it fully understood that if the said MATTY HOSKINS fails or refuses to pay said sum at the time above named then to sell so much of said tract as is necessary to pay said theirs as above stated, futhermore all of the property household and kitchen furniture, clothing and furniture, side saddle that my wife TENNESSEE HOSKINS brought with her or made during her life shall go into the hands of my executor, guardian for the benefit of said children above named, and I further desire that my mother's two shares that she owns of said farm be laid off next to my father's land on the south west side of the farm.
Lastly: I desire and order that all of my personable property be disposed of as the law directs. I now order and desire that my brother-in-law W. T. RUSSELL act as my executor to carry into full and complete effect all of this my last will and testament. This April 7, 1892.

I, MARY KIRBY do make and publish this my last will and testamony hereby revoking and making void all others by me at any time made.
Firstly: I direct that all my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money that I may first come into the hands of my executor.
Secondly: I give and bequeath to J. B. KIRBY, SARAH TAYLOR and MARY TURPIN one dollar each.
Thirdly: I give and bequeath to ANNA KIRBY, J. S. KIRBY, MATILDA WHALIER & S. E. WHALIER the remainder of my personal property to be divided between them equally.
Fourthly: I nominate THOMAS A. JOHNSON my executor.

WILL OF JOHN CROSS 13 October 1888
I, J. E. CROSS being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament revoking all other wills by me at any time made.
First: I will that my funeral expenses be paid out of any monys that I may die seized of or may come into the hands of my executor together with all my just debts.
Secondly: I give to my wife all of my lands during her natural life and at her death to be equally divided between my three youngest children, Viz;
MARGARET CROSS, FLORENCE LOUIZE CROSS, AND WILLIAM C. CROSS.
Thirdly: I give MARY CATHERINE CROSS two dollars and a half. G. W. CROSS two dollars and a half, SARAH MALINDA CROSS two dollars and a half and JOSEPH E. CROSS two dollars and a half.
Fourthly: I give to my wife all moneys notes or accounts that I may die seized or possessed of for the use of herself and children.
Fifthly: I appoint my wife NANCY ANN CROSS my executrix without bond, t his the 13th day of October 1888. Witness: Signed: JOHN E. CROSS

Will of William Cross I, WILLIAM CROSS, a citizen of the County of Anderson and State of Tennessee in view of the uncertainty of life and having not only the right to do so but believing it to be my duty while in health and full posession of my mental faculties to make some disposition of my property so as to avoid as far as possible disputes and controversies among my children, and needless and expensive litigation on the settlement of my estate after my death, therefore make and publish this as my last will and testament, It being the only will by me at any time made-- and I hereby declare that the terms heretofore mentioned are my solemn and sincere wishes as to the manner in which my property is to be disposed of when this instrument shall have gone into effect.
I: I desire my body decently buried, my burial expenses be paid, and my grave marked with a neat headstone-- all the details of which I entrust to the last judgement and discretion of my children.
II: I desire that all my just debts -- shall I owe any-- be paid out of any money on hand or that may first come to the hands of my executor.
III: The conveyance heretofore made by me to JOHN H. CROSS, JAMES F. CROSS, SABRA LOWE are to remain good and valid for the considerations therein mentioned, both in law and equity.
IV: I give and bequeath to SOPHIE CROSS and her children, heirs of JOE B. CROSS at law the tract of land of three hundred acres bought by me of JOE E. CROSS the same being a part originally of the tract on which JOE B. and SEPHIE now and being also the same bought by said JOE B. as the interest of CROZIER in the estate his father and mother, but this tract of land given her and her children as above mentioned with a charge upon it of One Thousand Dollars in favor of the other divisions of a proceeds of realty hereinafter disposed of and which she may pay out of any funds heretofore given her...
V: .....divided as follows: One thousand dollars to the two children of my son S. A. CROSS, deceased--- SAMUEL, and LULA....the remainder to be divided equally among MARY C. PLUMBE, GEORGE W. CROSS, and SEPHIE CROSS, wife of JOE B. CROSS.
VI: I direct that all my pesonal property be sold by my executor on such terms... divided as follows... One Thousand Dollars to the children of S. A. CROSS, deceased, five hundred dollars to JAMES F. CROSS ... SARAH LOWE and SEPHIE CROSS.
VII: The $2000.00 given to the two children of S. A. CROSS deceased, I direct paid over to GEORGE W. CROSS, And by him held in trust as a fund to be appropriated in such sums and in such manner as he may deem best in rearing and educating children. The remainder if any to be paid to them upon their arriving at the age of majority then the remainder to be paid out as proceeds of my personalty above mentioned.
VIII: I hereby nominate and appoint JOHN H. CROSS and GEORGE W. CROSS as executor of this my last will and testament.

Will of John Black 31 March 1893 Ammended 18 Sept. 1894
I, JOHN BLACK of Anderson County, Tennessee being in common health and common exercise of mind and considering the uncertainty of this life knowing it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and publish this my last will and testament no other having been made by me in the words and figures following, viz.
I will all my land to JOE BLACK, BILL BLACK and MARY J, COMER and her children.
Lot No. 1 Beginning .... BUTLER's line ....t op of Pine Ridge.... Lot No. 2 Beginning on river bank....Island FORD.... Lot No. 3 Beginning ... bank of Island Ford.... HALL'S land....also the CAMEL land.... Pine Ridge joining BUTLER, YORK, and others. All of said land I value at ($6000) one thousand of which I will to JOE BLACK and MARY J. COMER for caring for me up to the present and to the remainder of my days on earth. I give her ($1000) in the division of land in Lot No. 2 and Lot No. 3. I will JOE the blacksmith tools and my big scaulding kettle. I will MARY JANE my beds and furniture and as much household and kitchen furniture as she needs.
I will SAME BLACK'S heirs $200, TIDA CRAWFORD $200, JIM BLACK $175 more than they have got. I will HADE BLACK the land he has fenced and from his shuck house marked line to my fence....and in order that this will be lawfully executed I appoint JOE BLACK my executor to execute this my last will and testament I have set my hand and affixed my seal this 31st day of March 1893.

CONDICLE
In order that the foregoing will may be more fully understood and may the nearer conform to my desire, I hereby add to the same the following condicle...and my son JOSEPH to have Lot No. 3...in reference to my daughter MARY J. she having again married since the foregoing will was written, being now MARY J. ARNOLD.
