Although his story was often glorified and lack truth, his myth lives on and is passed through generations. Like the lengend of Robin Hood in the west, Liao was fed up with the oppressive Japanese government and took the law into his own hands. This movie tells the tale of Liao at a tender age (Xiao-Lung Shi) and the story behind his hatred for the Japanese. In addition, the love affair between Liao and Liu (Vivian Hsu) was expanded to show a more human side of the do-good bandit. But most importantly, the friendship between Red Turtle (Shi-Fong Luo) and Liao and the parental love of his master (Shou-Liang Ke) demonstrate this man's righteousness and loyalty towards his companions. Over this movie was short and not satisfying. But it is nice to visualize this legend and to learn more about the struggles of Taiwan. We give this film 4 go's because Jimmy Lin is as cute as ever. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
