Submitted by: The Bunny Foo Foo Starring: Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker Directed by: Brett Ratner, Adam Greenberg Genre: Comedy, Action Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker? Yes, on the surface, they may seem like an unlikely couple, but if we take a closer look, we find that they are not very different. While Tucker is a well known funny-man in the film industry, Jackie's reputation in Asia is not much different. In fact, that is a characteristic of Jackie's work that he values most (He often compares himself to the likes of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin). Regardless, odd pairing is what draws people to the box office these days and this is certainly not an exception. At this point, you may feel that I've said too much about the actors and nothing about the film itself, well, it was not a coincidence. In fact, the Tucker and Chan pairing is undoubtedbly the only draw about this film. The plot is simplistic and too commonplace for any mention. The acting is mediocre. Although you may not find suspense or thrill in the story line of the film, there is certainly enough comedy on top of action to get people to the theaters. For Jackie Chan, this is his first shot at resubmitting himself to American film production (Note: Rumble in the Bronx, Operation Condor, and Supercop are all Hong Kong Productions). And for Chris Tucker, he takes another step towards stardom. The movie receive 4 go's. There is plenty of entertainment value and Jackie's kicks are more than worth a look. ![]() ![]() ![]()
