For the techies, this was a great movie. I mean, you got the Asian martial arts mixed in with some computer hacking, I just love that combination. Anyway, anything I write about the film would kinda ruin it for you, the readers. So let me just say that this movie "is" worth seeing, unlike most Keanu Reeves films. So yeah, go see it. This gets 4 go's since it has Asian fighting and was about computer geeks.

Does the Matrix have you? It definitely body-snatched me. One of the few movies I've seen in recent years to captivate my imagination and enthrall me with visual effects. Sure other movies may have had bigger explosions and more stunts, but the operative word here is cool. Few movies are cooler. It's not just the Kung Fu, or the guns, or the plethora of gadgets, it's the entire thing. It's the adrenaline rush of running on the walls and dodging bullets. The thought that you can do anything. The concept that our existence may be a mere illusion. The entire cast gives a highly believable performance bringing us into their world and not letting go until the final credits are rolling. Mask the often confused look on Keanu Reeves face with a pair of face conforming sunglasses, and the guy actually carries off that I'm a mighty action hero bit. If you haven't seen this movie already try to buy or rent it on DVD.

I can understand peoples excitement over the visual effects, the plot, and of course, Carrie-Anne, but the kung fu? Pu-leeeaze. Even though the kung fu part doesnt really make me jump out of my chair, sofa, sleep bag, whatever, I do have to praise the cast members for spending hours in HK learning from the real deals. Aside from the ultra-creative plot/theme, we would say the next cool thing about Matrix is the denting the ground, stripping the tiles, and especially the part when Morphiuss cute head smashes through the toilet. Although critics often comment on Keanus acting (or inability to act rather), Peas and Carrots think they just dont understand Keanus style. Yes Keanu doesnt possess Tom Hanks-like magic, but the truth is you need a guy like Keanu for a movie like Matrix (NOW, imagine Tom Hanks in Matrix, would that be hilarious or what!!!)! In our opinion, there is nobody in Hollywood more suitable for the role he played. Of course, we cant forget Morphius (Fishburne) and Carrie-Anne either, they, like Keanu, are perfect for their respective roles. Most painful scene to watch: when Keanu was reborn and had holes down his spine and all over his body. Best quote: "Whoa" by Keanu, after watching Morphius jump, um, really high and really far. Overall, this movie receives 4 Gos; we like the effects and Carrie-Anne, but most of all, we like the fact that the plot is unique and creative.
